Parent & BABY CLASSES

Why Baby Massage Classes?

It is never too early to start massaging your baby. Massage can soothe your baby and help them to feel loved and protected whilst strengthening attachment. Gentle, rhythmic strokes of your baby's body with your hands is used which stimulates your production of the hormone oxytocin that gives you a warm, loving feeling when holding your baby close or breastfeeding. This promotes bonding and attachment and reduces the risk of postnatal depression. Once a massage course has been completed, you can continue at home as part of your baby's daily routine, giving you both some quiet time or including dad and siblings. Regular massage offers many benefits to both baby and parents.

Baby Yoga & Sensory

Yoga groups are separated into age groups (Stage 1 and Stage 2) so that all our moves, postures and props are suitable for the baby/child. The classes are very stimulating with lots of active movement for parent and baby including some gentle exercise, sensory and relaxation, all using music and rhythm. Many of the moves we do bring parent and baby together whilst some we encourage baby to stretch themselves with the help of parent and the instructor. All classes start with warm ups and sequence and end the same with relaxation and sensory to promote routine and so mum and baby learn what happens during the class.

Baby yoga focuses on development of milestones, strength, muscles and reflexes whilst increasing brain stimulation and independent movement. Promoting bonding between parent and baby and encouraging the social aspect.

Half an hour of baby yoga gives as much stimulation as walking around with baby for a full day therefore we spend the last 15 minutes of class having a group discussion with a light refreshment. Giving mum the opportunity for some air time, to give and gain advice whilst baby plays.

TODDLER YOGA, Rhythm & EXERCISE

£6.00 per class (£36.00 p/Course)  followed by a flexible pay option

Yoga groups are separated into age groups so that all our moves, postures and props are suitable for the baby/child. The classes are very stimulating with lots of active movement for parent and baby including some gentle exercise, sensory and relaxation, all using stories, music and rhythm. Some of the moves we do bring parent and baby together whilst many we encourage the toddler to stretch themselves with the help from parent and the instructor to build self esteem and independence. All classes start with warm ups and sequence and end the same with relaxation and sensory to promote routine and so both parent and child learn what happens during the class.

Our classes follow the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) to help the development of milestones, strength, muscles and reflexes whilst increasing brain stimulation and promoting a physically active lifestyle. These activities and exercises also helps with communication, listening, friendships, feelings and confidence.

Half an hour of yoga gives as much stimulation as a general day out (eg: shopping, lunch, games at home, story, bath etc) therefore the last 15 minutes of class having a group discussion with a light refreshment. Giving mum the opportunity for some air time, to give and gain advice whilst your child plays.
